Health Hazards of Polyurethanes

Q. Mil-C-461-68 or MIL- -46168 Described as a paint Type 2 (or Type II) Color 34031.

Questions: Hazardous to personnel and the environment? MSDS Numbers?

A. Mil-C-46168 as a polyurethane and behaves like all two-component polyurethanes. As far as health hazards are concerned it is not any different from other polyurethane formulations. There is an abundance of induistrial hygiene information on these coatings and you can access them by entering "polyurethane health safety" into a search engine, such as Google. I found several sites that discuss this isdsue. In addition, I found the following website to be very helpful: http://www.crosslinktech.com/health%20&%20safety.htm.
