Suitable Tank Lining Resistant to Allyl Chloride

Q: We will shortly be storing allyl chloride on site. We will be using two 25 cubic meter mild steel storage tanks. What type of lining would you advise for such an application?

A: Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. However, contact the technical folks at www.Carboline.com or www.Ameron.com and they will undoubtedly be able to give you a recommendation. The coatings division of Ameron was recently taken over by PPG Industries and you might want to visit the www.ppg.com website to get contact information.

Have you tried asking the technical folks at Plascon-Evans in Johannesburg? You will not want to go to a Plascon-Evans distributor, but rather ask the folks in the head office. I assume that they too can answer your question.

Regards,

Ron Joseph
