Anti-Graffiti, Marker Resistant Paints

Q. I'm trying to find a paint that would resist sharpie and permanent markers? a demo for eyeglass lenses showed they would resist sharpies, they would just wipe right off. Is there a sealant or type of paint that could do the same? We have horrible problems in our bathrooms with graffiti; this would make our school safer and cleaner if it existed.

A. There are several paint manufacturers that offer paints or additives that will make the coated surface graffiti resistant. Investigate in your local area, look for an industrial paint manufacturer or distributor such as PPG or Sherwin Williams.

These companies offer a wide variety of specialty paints and may have what you are looking for.

These types paints may require specialized application methods, you may have to enlist the services of a qualified applicator or someone familiar with these types of coatings.

Best wishes,

Ron Joseph
