Lighting in Spray Booths

Q. I'd like to find out more about the lighting regulations for spray booths. It would really help us if we could have a portable light, right by our work so that we could see the coating hitting the part - very helpful to get an even job done. I just don't know if this is legal. Do you know if there are any flex-conduit wiring systems that are rated for hazardous conditions so that I can wire in a movable explosion proof lamp?

A. If you want to have portable lighting in your spray booth you are obligated to use explosion-proof lighting. This can be expensive, but you have little choice.

I suggest that you go to http://www.ldpi-inc.com/ where you will find all types of lighting for your needs.

Best wishes,

Ron Joseph
