Projector Screen Paint

Q. I'm looking for a paint to put on a wall that we will be using to project powerpoint presentations on, that would enhance the viewing. Something that might make the wall comparable to a Screen. Is there such a thing? Thanks for any information you can give me.

Typically projector screens are somewhat reflective, I would think that you could recreate one the by using a pearlescent white paint. These types of paints can be difficult to apply, they are more designed for spray application. These types of paints are typically found in an automotive paint supply store, and can be very expensive. You may find something similar from a specialty paint supply store.

It may be more cost-effective for you to use a nice "pure white" high semi-gloss type paint. I don't recommend that you use a high gloss, this may be to reflective.

By using a high quality acrylic latex paint, and by brushing or rolling (I recommend the rolling) you may be able to create a usable surface in which to project your PowerPoint presentations on. Visit your local paint supplier and discuss your intentions, they may be able to provide specific product information.

Regards,

Jim Burke
