Intumescent Paint

Q. Can an intumescent paint be applied to the underside of a metal roof deck and achieve a 2 hour protection? Example, applying paint to the underside of a 24 gauge roof panel of a pre-engineered metal building roof.

A. Yes I believe you can do this provided that the paint will not be exposed to the elements. I suggest that you confirm this with the paint vendors.
