Pricing Question

Q. When pricing a paint job, should I charge my clients by the square footage of the room/rooms that they would like painted?

A. I think pricing by the square foot of surface area is a good method to use. It will prevent you from losing money from room to room and is a very clear means of selling the job. Regardless what the size of the room, you can justify the price. Be careful about painting windows and doors, you could spend a great deal of time painting fancy mill work.
