Preventing Mold in Bathrooms

Q. Both my daughter and I are allergic to house mold and can't seem to get rid of it. I had heard that a paint company was coming out with a paint that will prevent the reapperance of mold in a bathroom. Do you know of any kind of paint like this or anything close to this kind of paint?

A. Most latex, or waterbase paints contain biocides to retard the growth of "bugs" or mildew in the paint container. As standing water can become stagnant, so to will a waterbase paint.

Mold is caused by the presents of moisture, depending on where you are finding the mold you may find a way to dry up the area maybe with an exhaust fan to evacuate the moist air, or a heater or heat lamp to dry the air or combination of both.
