Painting a Mural on Concrete

Q. How do I prep a concrete wall to paint a fun mural? What type of paint? And what do I seal it with after it's painted since it is outside?

A. Preparation for this type of "fun" project would best be served by applying a product called a block filler. Available in a latex water reducible base.

The block filler may be used for the background color as well as filling the small voids that may interfere with your artistic creation. It may require more than one coat of the filler, depending on the porosity of the concrete, to provide for the desired surface. Follow the manufacturers recommendations.
