DFT Epoxy Coating

Q. Is there any differnce between 900 mic epoxy coating and 950 DFT epoxy coating? Is the term DFT adding more requirments for the epoxy?

A. DFT is simply an abbreviation for Dry Film Thickness. The first coating has a recommended DFT of 900 microns (35.4 mils or 0.0354 inches). The recommended DFT for the second epoxy is 950 microns (37.4 mils or 0.0374 inches). The difference between the two is insignificant and if their properties are similar, you can use either.
