Powder Coating Over Existing Powder Coating

Q: I recently powder coated a motorcycle fender and gas tank.  The fender is beautiful, but the tank has some very MINOR blemishes.  I can live with them, but I was wondering if I can powder coat over the existing powder?  I do have access to a cheap sandblaster, but I think the process would take a very long time.  Should I consider wetsanding the tank and then applying a high gloss clear powder?  Could I just powder the same color over the existing color?

A: You best bet is to scuff sand the defects and then apply a liquid coating over the defects, insuring that you feather the edges. If you sand blast the fender, you run the risk of damaging the sheet metal or causing some other defects.
