Toxic Chemical Reporting: Electronic Reporting
Electronic EPCRA Section 313 Form R reporting is accomplished by using the web-based system TRI-MEweb, which is offered free from EPA. Facilities submit TRI reports through the Internet via the EPA Central Data Exchange (CDX).
Reports submitted through the Internet are sent to both the EPA and the State (for participating states) and fulfills the dual reporting requirement. For participating states, you will not need to send anything further to either agency. The TRI-ME reporting software will guide you through the Internet submission process. First-time reporters are an exception to this and should refer to the Instructions.
For non-participating states, use the TRI Resource Locator to determine your options for electronically submitting TRI data.
The TRI Program released of TRI-ME Tutorials instructional videos. The tutorials are available at: http://www.epa.gov/tri/report/trime/tutorials. The purpose of the tutorials is to assist facilities with using TRI-ME and submitting forms via the Central Data Exchange. Each tutorial is approximately four minutes long and it includes video and audio to assist users.
The TRI-ME web based application, is available to facilities in states that are participating in the TRI State Exchange Network. Facilities located within these 14 states that have provided valid e-mail addresses in previous TRI submissions will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to access TRI-MEweb. Facilities that have not provided a valid e-mail address will receive a letter with instructions. Facilities that have not received instructions by June 11 should contact the TRI-ME/CDX help desk at epacdx@csc.com or (888) 890-1995. Facilities that are not located within one of these 14 states should continue to report using the desktop version of the TRI-ME reporting software available at www.epa.gov/tri/report/software.
